Default Football playoff picks

Who are your picks for the SB this year? I'm leaning towards Indy-Giants right now because Rothlesburger got that concussion.

Wildcard Bracket (bold team is my pick)

Atlanta at Arizona
Indianapolis at San Diego
Baltimore at Miami
Philadelphia at Minnesota

This one was a little bit difficult... if you look at all the individual match ups the away team should be the favorites. However, I just don't see all the home teams losing this weekend. Atlanta and Indianapolis seem to have good matchups. San Diego only won 8 games so I don't see them moving on and Arizona has mailed in the last part of the season, so they should be one and done. That leaves either Minnesota or Miami to win. Even though I'm a Miami fan and it seems likely that one of the rookie QBs will lose this weekend I'm not comfortable picking this one. However I feel less picking Minnesota because Philly had that big win last week over a division rival.

How do you have Miami over Baltimore? As much as i'd like Miami to win (im a Steelers fan) it won't happen, Baltimore is just too good. I do agree with your other picks though.

ADDED: Indy won't make the playoffs because teams such as the Steelers, Ravens, and Titans will outmatch them, they can't win. Don't worry about Big Ben the Steelers have a bye week and that is more than enough time to get back on his feet and in the rare case he isn't 100% I am more than sure that Leftwich can take his place as he is a very reliable back-up. Steelers are not a big offense team obviously as I think they finished with the 24th offense in the league, defense is where all the work is done so Roethlisberger's injury isn't exactly huge.

My personal pick for the Superbowl is Baltimore vs. New York although ideally I would enjoy it being Steelers vs. Eagles.

Atlanta at Arizona
Indianapolis at San Diego
Baltimore at Miami
Philadelphia at Minnesota

Atlanta takes it by at least 14 points
Indie.. will blow out San Diego by 21 points
Baltimore wins by close to 7 points
Phil... McNabb will make sure they make all the big plays down the end. AP for the vikes will have a good day but their QB will make too many mistakes. 14 points victory for Eagles.

Just watch, Minnesota or Arizona will come from behind and win the Superbowl, NO ONE WILL SEE IT COMING!

While I agree with you Baltimore is the favorite this weekend and should win it just seems unlikely that all of the home teams will lose. So if one home team wins this weekend, it should either be Miami or Minnesota. Since the Eagles run defense has been okay this season and the Vikings QB got benched earlier, Miami just seems like a slightly better choice at pulling off an upset... they have an experienced game manager that makes few mistakes, they have been finding ways to win with different people stepping up each week, while Baltimore has a rookie QB and an aging defense.

So my Miami pick is more of an underdog upset pick than a favorite pick.

I think we won't see any upset until second round. Titans will go down same goes with the soft running Steelers. Mark my words!

Nah, either the titans or the steelers should advance one game... but not the one Miami will be facing that week.

Steelers face the highest remaining seed so if Miami wins they face Miami.

Okay, since the cardnals upset the falcons, I'm switching my pick to the ravens. I'm still rooting for the Phins, but I'm not sure they can win enough to call for two upsets this weekend.

Well lets see...

indie lost to San Diego in OT
Arizona beat Atlanta

I think...
Baltimore will beat Miami, good defense vs a mediocre offense
Philly over Minn, Minn is a weak team when Petersen doesn't run well, look for Philly to crack down on him and Westbrook to have a big day

I'll change my picks.

Dolphins will take the game by a late field goal.
Eagles will spank mistake-prone Vikes all day long.

Superbowl matchup.

Giants vs Titans.. Count on it!

I think the eagles if they play the way they can have a good shot at beating the giants.

My picks..

Panthers will win in a shoot-out type game.
Giants will win for sure by a field goal.
Ravens will take care of business against the Titans on the road.
and....

My upset special.

Chargers in OT (yes folks, I said overtime) will win a heart-breaker against the Steelers!

Now I know why the Jets didn't like Pennington... he stinks come January.

I'm picking Carolina, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and the G-men.

Akuma, I take it you read TMQ a lot.

Giants over Eagles, don't what it is but the Giants just seem to excel in the Playoffs even though in the 2 season meetings, the road team won both times. Look for the Giants to pressure McNabb and keep Westbrook under wraps.

Carolina over Arizona. Sorry but Arizona is not a strong team. Carolina will run all over them.

Pittsburgh over San Diego. Why? Defense friends, look at the last game they played. The conditions were horrible but the defense stood tall at the end. With LT possibly having a torn ligament look for the Steelers to bring the heat.

Upset Alert:
Ravens over the Titans. Yes the Titans had the best start this year but they fell to 13-3 by the end of the season. They did not look sharp at all and I don't expect that to change with an extra week of practice. Collins is starting to show his age and White and Johnson won't be able to carry the offense against the Ravens physical defense. While they did pull off a last second win against the Ravens in the regular season, look for the Ravens to be out for revenge. They will rough up Collins and the RB's all day.
